At Liberty Baptist we believe that the church of Jesus Christ exists for five basic reasons:
Exaltation—the church is meant to worship God through music, drama, prayer, fellowship, art, and spoken word (Col. 3:16, Acts 2:42).
Edification—the church is meant to disciple Christians, build up their faith, and lead them into a mature relationship with Christ (1 Peter 2:2, 2 Tim. 2:2)
Equipping—the church exists to train believers to discover their own spiritual gifts for ministry and instruct them to adopt a Biblical worldview which shapes daily living (Eph. 4:11-12, 1 Cor. 12:4-6).
Encouragement—the church is a living organism which is made up of many different members. Through Christian fellowship we learn that in the church there is unity in our diversity (1 Cor. 12:12-13, 1 John 1:3).
Evangelism—the church is a lighthouse which proclaims the Good News of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. We exist to change the world through the preaching of man’s sin and Christ’s salvation (Matt. 28:19, Mark 16:15).
