Closing the Credibility Gap

Closing the Credibility Gap

Passage: Matthew 5:33-37

Preacher: Derrick McCarson

Series: Kingdom Now

Category: Sermon on the Mount

Lying, cheating and stealing have become the unholy trinity of American life that has corrupted everything from politics, to business practices, to our schools and even our sports. The sad reality is that there is little statistical difference between the ethical practices of church-goers and the nonreligious. Jesus addressed the importance of integrity and keeping your word in his most famous sermon. His golden rule of honesty is summed up in the phrase, “Let your yes be yes and your no be no.” In this message, Jesus challenges us to close the credibility gap and be people of integrity.
