It may seem odd to talk about Satan in a series on heaven. However, the defeat of Satan is crucial to our study of the eternal state because in order for God to be truly victorious and for heaven to be ultimately rewarding there can be no threat of attack from an enemy. Heaven wouldnt be heaven if we constantly had to be looking over our shoulder for a serpent in the shadows. . At each progressive stage of Gods program, Satan has been there to thwart Gods plan, but to no avail. If we survey of the Scriptures we can get a panoramic view of this cosmic battle from beginning to end.
